Summary

However, as we navigate these difficult times, the challenges ahead are many. The public sector finds itself in the midst of a perfect storm. With inflation high, energy costs and interest rates rising, the financial pressures are many just as the need to meet ESG targets becomes ever more crucial.

Announced in the Autumn Review, an energy and savings review has been taking place throughout the whole sector, with the Chancellor asking for further efficiencies to be found. Due to report in spring, the review will focus on how digitalisation can be further embraced, working with cross-cutting government functions to accelerate progress on innovation and automation.
